Oral Presentation Guidelines


The Speaker Support Centre is located in Secretariat 4 on the ground floor. Technicians will be available to assist you at the following times:

Tuesday 4th September 06:30 – 20:00hrs
Wednesday 5th September 06.30 – 18:30hrs
Thursday 6th September 06.30 – 17:30hrs
Friday 7th September 06.30 – 17:00hrs

Please report in good time before the start time of the relevant session, to quickly test any presentations if required.

Tea and coffee facilities will be available in the Speaker Support Centre along with power sockets where you can plug in a laptop or other device.


Please note all presenters are required to provide a Disclosure slide to comply with the CME accreditation requirements. Slide template is available and should be used as the introduction slide in your presentation.

Please bring your presentation on memory stick, CD or DVD and upload it at the media check-in desk at the Speaker Support Centre at least 2 hours before your session.

For technical reasons you are NOT permitted to use your own Laptop or Macbook at the podium. All presenters will be required to use congress computers at the podium.

We will provide a Windows computer for the presentations.  The supported software for presentations is Powerpoint. Normal MS Powerpoint presentations (*.ppt and *.pptx) with video formats will be accepted. A Macbook Pro with Keynote will be available at the Speaker Support Centre, but only to convert the presentations into Windows format. Please note that your presentation will be shown in 16:9 format. Please create your presentation in 16:9 (wide screen) format.

If you are using video clip(s) in your PowerPoint presentation please remember that it is important that you save the video clip(s) in a separate file from your PowerPoint presentation but in the same folder. When you check in and load your presentation, quickly run through the presentation with a technician to make sure that the clip(s) plays when required.


Upon arrival at the Congress venue, please check in at the Registration Desks. Here you will be able to pick-up your Congress documentation, including your name badge. You will then be directed to the Speaker Support Centre: “Secretariat 4”.

Please arrive at your session 15 minutes prior to the published start time and identify yourself either to the hostess or the session coordinator/moderator.

In order to keep to our tight schedule please keep to the timings in the programme, which includes time for questions at the end of your presentation. During your presentation you should select your vocabulary to address as wide an audience as possible and not use unfamiliar abbreviations or expressions.

Please note that the official language of the congress is English and all presentations should be in English.


Each session room is equipped with a projector and screen, you will be able to control your presentation from the podium. Each session room will be staffed with a room assistant who will assist with the start of each presentation and contact the AV technician if necessary.


Please be aware that the information and materials displayed and/or presented at all sessions of this meeting are the property of IHPBA 2018 and/or the presenter, and cannot be photographed, copied, photocopied, transformed to electronic format, reproduced or distributed without the written permission of IHPBA 2018 and/or the presenter.

IHPBA 2018 reserve one-time copyright for publication of material provided for inclusion in the proceedings for the conference, which includes audio recordings containing presentation materials such as PowerPoint slides. Presenters are encouraged to include copyright notices as appropriate on all the materials submitted and presented at IHPBA 2018.

Presenters should ensure that their contributions contain no matter that is defamatory or is otherwise unlawful or invades individual privacy or infringes on any proprietary right or statutory copyright.
